Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, Roel De Prins and Robbe Boons have picked up the DJ and producing art in the early years of 2000. It's only in 2011 that they decided to cooperate and form the duo Flapjackers together.
As an established name in the House scene they released numerous singles, remixes and Ep's under their name, and connected with many renowned labels including I'm A House Gangster, Great Lakes Audio, Salted Music, Country Club Disco, Nightbird Music and so on. Throughout their career they've received support from artists such as Ramon Tapia, Dj Sneak, Mark Farina, Harry Romero, Joeski, Justin Harris, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Cricco Castelli, Jason Hodges, Martinez Brothers, Tapesh, Andrea Oliva and many more.
After playing at numerous famous Belgian venues, they started touring throughout Europe, including Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, and The Netherlands. Flapjackers also played in the USA on various label nights in Miami and New York City. Early 2013 they released a funky house styled EP on Juiced Music, of which the track “Where The Girls At” reached the #1 top seller on the Traxsource Top 100, receiving major support from artists around the globe.
That same year Flapjackers launched a new club concept in Antwerp, Belgium, called HMEWRK. The concept quickly expanded to a weekly sold out event and became one of the hottest House events in Belgium.
On top of that, Flapjackers became one of the residents at the world famous festival Tomorrowland, where they were invited by none other than Derrick Carter to join his Friends&Family stage. After their successful appearances at the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium they became residents for Tomorrowland Brasil and Tomorrowworld Atlanta as well.
In 2014, Flapjackers started their own imprint, called Forest Walker Records. It didn't take long before the label got noticed by prominent players in the game such as Reboot, Martinez Brothers, Dubfire, Claude Vonstroke, Mark Knight, Seth Troxler, Joyce Muniz, Riva Starr, Ramon Tapia, Tripmastaz, Nick Curly, Loco Dice, Audiojack and more.
On July 11th 2015, Flapjackers hosted their first festival with Forest Walker Records, called Dystopia Festival. With Derrick Carter, Dj Sneak, Ian Pooley and Paul Johnson on the line up, the first edition was a major success with more than 5,000 attendants.
Only recently they were picked up by one of the most historic clubs in Europe, Café D'Anvers, where they are currently holding a monthly residency.
Despite their successful collaboration, Flapjackers will no longer be a duo from 2016 onwards. After a beautiful carreer together, it was time for the duo to go their own way. As from 2016, Roel De Prins will continue all activities from Flapjackers. This doesn't mean 2016 is going to be a quiet year. On the contrary: with a first full album and upcoming releases on Mark Farina's Great Lakes Audio and Dj Sneak's imprint Magnetic Recordings, next year is set to be a great one. With a Brasil and Canada tour, residencies at Tomorrowland, Café D'Anvers, HMEWRK and Dystopia Festival, Flapjackers' gig schedule for 2016 is packed already.
